Who Needs a Driver's Medical Exam?
RoadSafetyBC requires a Driver's Medical Examination Report (DMER) for:
Commercial drivers — Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 licenses
Seniors 80 and older — required to maintain your BC driver's license
Uber, Lyft, and taxi drivers — Class 4 license requirement
Drivers with specific medical conditions — as directed by ICBC or RoadSafetyBC
Once you receive your DMER form from ICBC or RoadSafetyBC, you have 45 days to complete and submit it.

Your driver's medical exam typically takes 15 to 30 minutes and includes:
