Who Needs a Driver's Medical Exam?

RoadSafetyBC requires a Driver's Medical Examination Report (DMER) for:

  • Commercial drivers — Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 licenses

  • Seniors 80 and older — required to maintain your BC driver's license

  • Uber, Lyft, and taxi drivers — Class 4 license requirement

  • Drivers with specific medical conditions — as directed by ICBC or RoadSafetyBC

Once you receive your DMER form from ICBC or RoadSafetyBC, you have 45 days to complete and submit it.

What to Expect at Your Appointment
